Overview
The Vancouver 2010 Integrated Security Unit is comprised of multiple agencies working together to the common goal of providing a comprehensive security arrangement that will allow participants and spectators of the Vancouver 2010 OLYMPIC Winter Games to partake in the enjoyment of the Games Experience.
Beginning in mid-January of 2010, security force members will begin arriving in the Whistler area. There will be about 2000 security members in the Whistler area during the height of the games period (10 February 2010 to 02 March 20100. Most of the security force will be deployed in full operational uniform consisting of wool pants, poly-cotton shirts, cold weather outer garments (Gore-tex jacket with fleece liner, or winter coats) as well as civilian attire. It is anticipated that there will be a need for some of these items to be laundered or dry cleaned.
